Dear all ,
Most of us are being spending time on Facebook and other for many hours . I know it is not something bad but spending too much time on something that is not productive or that really doesn't add value to your own life sound meaningless. The average person spend almost 58 minutes per day on Facebook,45 minutes on YouTube per day plus if we add 1 hrs to other platform then you will be spending 64800 hrs in your next 65 years of your life which equals to 7 -8 years of your life. Imagine 7 - 8 years of your life sticking somewhere which nither makes you happy at all nor makes your life meaningful. I am not talking about all of those peoples who are self-employed on social media platforms or expanding your business and all. I am talking about normal people's who is just spending their time on Facebook or any other social media platform. If you are learning something then that is great, but if you are just spending time on it then think about it 7 - 8 years of your life on Facebook and social media platforms. It only takes 10000 to excel something but you will be spending almost 64800 hrs scrolling your mobile phone which is going to take you no where but the path of misery , unsuccessful and unhappy life.
It takes me 3 years to understand this. Finally i had come up with getting rid of socialmedia addiction or making it your productive platform. These are the techniques i just follow to make social media productive for myself and get rid of this addiction.
#1: Use it for self development purpose
It is way more useful to watch videos of self development like, how to communicate better with other? How to make charismatic personality? How to motivate yourself for studies? There are lots of videos like this. Rather then just sharing memes and watching funny videos all the day. Believe me it's worth it.
#2:use it for specific purpose only
Second is using it only if necessary. For example : if you are opening youtube to watch one video that came up in your mind or something you want to know about then do not spend time more than that video is. Because you are going to end up your day by watching whatever is in recommendation. So use it for specific purpose only .
#3: change your ad preference
Changing your ad preference on Facebook, intagram and other social media platform or removing all kind of add from your page will make it less addictive. You will gradually stop seeing what you like and what they want to show you. I know what i used to do when ad about something i like popups on my screen, i used to click it and see whats in there either it is useful or not. But believe me this help me to getting rid of those unnecessary facebook ads.
#4:Unsubscribe , Unlike and Leave if it's not necessary
Sometimes we like , join , subscribe whatever the facebook page or youtube channel and on other platforms . You find a meme on facebook and see there is new page sharing it then you like it to get more memes and post . And same case with youtube and other media. Don't do it if you are doing it then stop. I want to let you know it is never going to end like, subscribe, and share of memes and unnecessary stuff is never going to end, you yourself should stop somewhere. Like, subscribe and join groups which add value and which help you to grow inside and outside for example ; joining entarance exam gruop will help you to discuss about doubtful questions with others, book summary channel , listen some good motivational speaker and your role model, something that will add value to your career, inspire you, makes relationship healthier...... At last be specific.
#5: Watch educational video on social media
There are lots of educational videos on social media. You might be in somewhere in the path of your career either you are starting or you are at peak, it is always best to learn something . Thats why platform like youtube, google, etc. Will help you to get learn lots of knowledge you want to learn. It is totally on your hand that you want to spend most of your time by just watching random videos and reading random articles which will leads to nowhere . Then something that will help you to be better person.
#6:Meditation
This is my favorite part. Meditation just changed my life. The way i used to see the world . It will boost your focus and consciousness so much that whatever memes and all you are enjoying today will not make any sense at all. This is my own experience. You will be so active, interested and focused in your job. Try meditation. Specially Vipassana meditation. I just enjoy doing meditation. Believe me one session of your life will change the perception of world . I has helped alot of people to get over any kind of addiction. It will help you too . For more i will post about meditation in detail on my blog.
These things really helped me . I hope it will benefit you too. It will be really hard to apply all of it but have patience it is possible.

Here is my own journey to meditation. Dear all, Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Meditation is journey to know who you are and to get clarity over everything in life. It is way of living in present , making your life more meaningful and less stressful. Meditation is more than what you can think. It will take you to mental, emotional, social and spritual growth. Meditation simply teaches you about calmness, peacefulness and blissfulness inside you. Before entering in meditation , i used to think it was like giving therapy to a person who is stressed, depressed and addicted to something. It is use for all these things but later on i came to know that it is more than that. I was student studying commerce in management college, during that time i came to know a gu

I completely agree with you. The other day I started with a Twitter clean-up because I realised I was following so many unnecessary accounts.
